BIG TIME HOSPITALITY
If it seems there are a few thousand extra people in Minneapolis this summer, you’re not imagining things.
Minneapolis plays host to two of the biggest events a major city could take on—from a meeting planner
perspective, there’s the World Education Congress landing at the beginning of August, and sports fans
will be flooding Target Field and downtown Minneapolis for Major League Baseball’s All-Star Game (and
Fan Fest) in the middle of July. Both will put hospitality to the test, from large-scale scheduled meet-ups
and celebrations to extra patrons sipping cocktails on Nicollet Mall. Here’s what a few experts had to say
about prepping the city for its big debut.
MPI’s World Education Congress and Major League Baseball’s
All-Star Game will welcome both a national audience of
potential tourists and a select group of meeting and event planners.
